2012 C350 Coupe
New C350 owner: this CANNOT be normal behaviour?!? (anyone?)

Hi all, just purchased a 2012 C350 Coupe and this is my first post on the board...

I've been loving the vehicle overall and still getting used to it, but thought I'd ask about one thing before I head back to the dealer:

I am able to shift my Auto transmission from D to N to R and to P WITHOUT having to hit the brake pedal!?! Now I've only attempted this while the car was idling for obvious reasons, but I feel this should still not be possible (other than into neutral)??

I can only imagine what would happen to my transmission should I accidentally hit it into reverse while on the highway in this case!

Gonna bring it in to have that checked out unless others are aware of this as feature (for what?).

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Kamy

ML350
I guess the car knows it is in idle (0 mph) and therefore allows it.
Try it while it is moving. It will not work. I tried that with my ML350 and it would not shift into R when the car is moving.
