Engine Problems
Posted this in the 209 forum but then realized it is a technical problem.
Have an 03 CLK500 with 700 miles. At 550 miles the check engine light came on, dealer said missing #1 cyllinder so they replaced the coil then #4 started missing. they replaced the crank sensor then sent me home. At 700 miles the check engine light came on again. They said still missing & changed the coils & wires & said the problem shows up according to the codes at 1/2 or partial throttle but said due to the rain could not check it today on the road so they will keep it for the weekend. Any ideas what the problems could be as they said none of the replaced parts looked defective. Also after reading here about the problems with motor mounts on the CLK500 I asked them to check my vin range & they said mine qualifies but cannot replace unless a problem is found, does this seem right? Also the way the engine was vibrating due to the missing mya not help the mounts as my dealer is 45 miles from me which means I had driven the car over 100 miles with the missing & vibration, at traffic lights the car felt like one of the old motel beds where you put in a quarter & the bed vibrates while the engine light was on. Without the check engine light it does feel kind of smooth.
