2002 Clk55 AMG Stuck in park! !! Not the break light switch! Need advice please
Ok I have a 2002 clk55 amg. Cars stuck in park. Starts fine just can't get it out of park. Changed the break light swItch. That not the problem. What else cOuld it be? This happened all of a sudden. No signs or warnings what so ever. Car ran fine before this. Used the key hole to manually shift the car and park it in a safe location. Couldn't get the car to go faster than 20mph. BAS ABS SRS CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS all came on. Now only srs and check engine light are on.

Probably the internal plastic shift lock mechanism broke. If you search the forums you will find the workaround as well as the fix.
