MERCEDES E55 AMG: What is cause of fault code 5250 (rear damper valve open circuit)?
Hi All
I'm working on a Mercedes E55 AMG (211) and have adaptive suspension problems, the error code 5250 comes up (rear left damper valve open circuit) does any one have any suggestions on what could be causing this?

This is a complete shot in the dark....
Either the actuator is defective as the electrical circuit is not registering as connected and/or the valve is stuck open when it should be closed or vice versa and therefore registering as a leak in the damper system.

5250 fault code
I have this fault on a CLS 500 and the dealer told me it was the rear air springs. That didn't fix the problem so I then replaced the shock absorber. Still getting the same fault. I'm lost now. What actuator are you referring to as the possible issue?

"Open circuit" means a broken wire or a bad connection somewhere in the circuit between origin (power) and termination (ground). You'll have to isolate the wires and connectors and check for continuity from beginning to end.
FWIW, most electrical problems are mechanical problems. i.e. broken wires and what not.

Does anyone have an electrical schematic or service manual for the CLS 500/ E500? I can check continuity but I'm not sure where the wire for the left rear shock absorber is coming from.
