clarification question on engine rev noise
does anyone know what parts cause the whoosh/whine noise that you can hear when the guy revs the engine at 0:23-0:27 in the following clip, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht5Ko...ature=youtu.be . you can hear the whirring/humming noise i mention that is distinct from the growl when the engine is revved. it increases in pitch/depth as the rpm's increase.

It`s called power. To remove this sound take off the serpentine belt, but those sounds are very normal. There are 5 idlers with bearings in them also an alternator, power steering pump and ac compressor, they all make noise to some degree.
