3.2 Engine noise
I have an 2003 E320 that has two noise's that have me concerned.
One is a metallic tapping or rapping that don't go away at any speed.
The second is a droning and vibration that starts at 11.00 rpm and
continues throughout the entire drive. the drone starts at 1100 rpm weather or not the car is static or rolling. Had oil and filter changed plugs changed.
Noted the idler and tensioner were both noisy replaced them both as well.
Now I'm At a loss to do next kind of sounds like a rocker arm raping
sound or like the flex plate being cracked. I've seen that on Chrysler vehicles
before but I'm not too sure with an all aluminum engine the sound is everywhere. I need help as soon as possible this thing is driving me nuts.
