Glow plugs

Hi, not got my var yet as im undecided. Not sure if i want a W204 C220cdi/ c220cgi or 320cdi/cgi. Not overly bothered about the fuel economy. I recently hired a E220cdi and loved it, but it was a bit to big. I am coming from a golf gti which was written off through no fault of my own. I was looking at a BMW e46 M3 but maintaining it would cost a fortune.
I have several questons regarding the c220. I was in halfords and just happned to be looking at spark plugs and couldnt find c220 glow plugs listed. They looked on computer and they came up at £65 each, i rang mercedes and they said they could do them for £35 each, also Andrew page price was £9.95 each. Not to bad i suppose but are there any other service parts that cost an absolute fortune that i need to be watching out for?
Also which engine size is deemed to be the best? is there a lot of difference in performance and economy?
Lastly, i noticed that in the E class, there was a LED strip in each door and also right across the dashboard, does the c class have these also?
Thanks folks.

2007 W204 220CDI Classic Sedan
Hello Ricky,

I bought my W204 2007 220CDI new . Have not had any expense in the 6 years except normal service items.

I have maintained the car myself since new . Just filters & oil, filters & oil. I changed the auto trans oil at 50,000km & the filter , pan seal & correct oil was reasonably priced.

In lots of cases you can buy parts from independents & on Ebay rather than going through a dealer.

The 4 cylinder diesel has all the power & torque that is needed. Going to a 6 cylinder is overkill with a heavier front end. OK for pulling stumps in the bush.

The only way to determine which is for you is to test drive each a couple of times back to back.
