2006 C280 4matic
Key Remote (locking/unlocking) & Radio Issues
I drive a 2006 C280 4matic. My car remote does not work (a few times it worked if i stand right next to the drivers side door) and the radio is shot. I checked most of the fuses. Fuse #8 keeps burning out when I go to replace. I heard a humming sound from the ceiling/dome lights (front). I thought about disconnecting the alarm horn from the front right passenger side wheel but I could not find it. Is it something with the antenna amplifier? Anyone have the same issue with a fix?

Thanks
I read in a thread it may be the alarm horn and tried to find it to disconnect. However, I did not see it in the front passenger wheel arch. I guess I will have to look again as I tried to find it without taking off the wheel. Is there a chance it could be located somewhere else?
Can I disconnect the alarm horn for the time being without doing a replace? Or will this potentially cause other failures?
Any recommendations for websites to purchase this part?

hi the alarm horn is in n/s.f wheel arch you have to remove wheel and linner its
behind the wheel and low down you can disconnect it but horn has battery back up
so it may go of for a bit

Keyfob/radio issues
The problem you have can be fixed by replacing the RF amplifier which is up in the rear headliner just forward of the rear window.Dealers will charge
approx. $1600 to do this repair.Check the 8 amp fuse in the trunk fusebox
first and if its blown visit a junkyard to get a good amp, install it/fuse and
everything will work just fine.......nitrame
