xenon bulb

97 e420.
Sorry, first time with xenon's. I've got a bulb out, need to get a replacement. The dealer wants $175 a piece. Where/what bulb type should I be looking for? The manual tells me h7 for the normal bulbs.
Any help/direction is appreciated.

Hey there,
Actual xenon bulbs are expensive to replace. I think the H7 bulbs are referring to the normal halogen bulbs, not the H.I.D. bulb itself, tho I could be wrong...anyone else?

I believe you need a D2R. It is for headlights with fluted lenses and/or complex reflectors. The D2S is for projector type headlights.

Here is more info.

The price of xenon bulbs runs from about $130 to $175 dollars.

Cool, thanks for the info. The h7's are halogen only, the manual doesnt give me a 'type' or code for the xenon bulb. It just says, 'xenon'.

It's on your headlight lens.

Replace both xenon bulbs. New xenons have a different light color than used once.

Also let the garage adjust the lights afterwards.

And last but not least : Read the safty instructions! Xenon uses high voltage !!!
