Hi all, Im steve and I live in Spain. I have recently pulled the engine down on my C220 1.8 16 valve and replaced the rings , big end shells and had the head skimmed. Before I removed the pistons i scratched the bore number onto the crown of each piston, however, since being cleaned up at the local engineering works, my scratchings are barely visable.. I know what piston goes in to each bore as i numbered the con rods, the problem is which way round do the pistons go into the bores,it was so long ago i cant remember which side i marked the rods to, I have attached two photos i have found of piston and rod, where you can see the cut out s for the valves, so , which way round do they go,lol. thanks for your help, Steve.
