How much do you torque the top strut nut down? All the way dwn the bolt threads?

Does that question make sense? I recently installed h&r springs on my w203. When I pulled the strut nut plastic cap off the towers I noticed that the nut for the strut on each side was only torqued down until two threads shown above the nut. Not all the way down the entire length of the threading on the top of the strut.

This was the same on both strut bolts in the front. Should I torque these bolts down the entire length of the strut threading or leave them as I found them and only thread the nuts on until 2 threads are exposed?

Does it even matter?

Will torqueing these nuts down all the way compress the spring more, lower my front, and require another alignment?

Thanks guys!

did you ever get an answer to this? I'm wondering the same thing.
