weird thumping from front axle...
This happens on the 98 SL320....
it only happens on cold days... during summer it would only do it til the car got warm... its very odd...
When you turn the wheel it starts to make a thump that you can feel and hear.... the more u turn the wheel the more it made the sound.... sometimes it gets real nasty if its cold, and u turn the wheel alot... we changed the suspension thing on the steering column, but that didnt help... we took it to a shop, and they couldnt even figure it out... it feels like its coming from the middle, maybe tiny bit from left... u it happens when you start to turn the wheel, but also does it when u start moving, and the wheel is in a turned position...
i'm pretty mechanically inclined, but i'm going crazy cuz i cant figure out what this is!!!
