E 300 TD Cruise Failure 1998

I had this problem before and after replacing the MAF.
Ideas? Techs?
Thanks in advance.
Regardless of length of time on cruise, ambient or engine temperature, speed, load or any other variables I've noted, my cruise will occasionally quit. Pull the stalk back and we are back in business.

I don't know if the actuator on your E300 is similar to the ones on the W123, but if it is, this could be one thing to check. If you do take it off the engine, be careful when you dissassemble it as you have to put everything back together again.
The W123 also has a "computer" or amplifier under the dash that often had intermittant problems. When I use to have two W123, and before all the CC crapped out, I would swap parts to figure out what was broken from one to the other. The two parts run about $300 each, so having a working CC can be expensive if both parts need repalacement.
I would hope that MB had improved things in the 14 years between my W123 and your E300.
Good Luck.

I've been told by techs that the 210 cruise is different and has other problems/cures.
Anyone have any 210/new system experience?
