2007 ML350 dreaded P0016 and P0017 codes

Hello, brand new to the forum. I have a 2007 ML350 4matic with 115,000 miles on it. I'm not sure if mine falls into the balance shaft failure engines or not? My vin is 4JGBB86E67A152756 if anyone would be kind enough to check on that for me. The check engine light is on and my icarsoft scanner is reading codes P0016 and P0017. I have found a ton of helpful information on this site and understand what the codes now mean. My ML runs great and always has(purchased with 48,000 miles from a MB dealer). I called the service manager and he told me to have the cam adjuster magnets replaced first to rule them out and that they may likely be the culprit. Both codes show the right side bank and probably a stupid question, but what side do they consider right bank? Has anyone replaced the magnets and is it a very difficult DIY? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can tell you that the right bank is the passenger side. The left and right banks are as viewed from the drivers seat.
Unfortunately, I can't be of any help when it comes to changing the magnets. Maybe someone else can chime in.
Good luck!
