Tiptronicformat

Hi my ml only drives 1 rear wheel as soon as it hits a slippy surface it just sits and spins 1 rear wheel,the abs light and ets both work with key on but no warnings come on when it starts to spin.is it mechanical or electrical problem?makes no difference if in high or low range.thanks for any info.
