1998 Mercedes Benz E320
Trunk is stuck closed

I have a 1998 E320 with a trunk that won't open. I've tried the fob, the manual key and the switch in the cab. The light remains on on the inside switch. I tried to get into the trunk via back seat but it's blocked off. Any help would be appreciated greatly.
Thank you

check behind your license plate. there may be access if you remove the part that holds the plate on.

Did you turn the manual key the right way?

The key does nothing if you turn it clock wise. You need to turn counter clock wise.

Cars
Sounds like your as screwed as I was with my 2004 CL 600. The battery was dead and the lock for the key didn't work. I had to actually take a drill and make a hole about 3 inches around to access the trunk from behind my license plate. Mercedes sent someone out but they couldn't get into the truck. Afterwards, I glued the body panel (that I had drilled out) back in with epoxy and put the license plate back in place and that was that. Man was I thinking I was so **cked. I really was, then it hit me like a ton of bricks to do this and it worked. Once I got in, I replaced the key rod and closure puck. That was my Christine car.
