Best Chasis? Drove my brothers CLK550 and loved it
So I have a history of owning 25+ various performance oriented vehicles. I got to drive my brothers 2007 CLK550 and wow, I was very surprised by how lively the engine response! The car was breaking the tires loose very easily and sounded great. The only thing keeping me from looking into the 2007 CLK550 is the fact that there are other models with the supercharger and V12TT that seem to be faster and nicer. I understand there is always a trade off, older car... faster and less reliable etc. Faster but heavier... I understand just making sure I didn't miss any models.
So now I am on the hunt for the perfect Mercedes... I would like to pick this car up as my weekend car/toy.
I am looking for the best balance of speed/looks/price as possible.
I can't see myself spending over $15,000-$25,000 for a weekend toy...
I have been doing some research and have found these awesome 2003+ CL600 with the BiTurbo V12, seems very tunable and stunningly attractive. There is also the CL55 AMG and the SL600 and SL55 AMG...
Are these cars the lightest chassis with those awesome motor options or did I miss a model? I would prefer the V12BiTurbo over the the supercharged variants due to cost of tuning and I love torque.
I was looking at the SLK models but they seem to be too small and girly looking and no V8 supercharged variant?
I am looking for the sleeper/tuners special so am I wrong by being drawn to the 2003+ CL600?
Thanks guys!

If you can afford the maintence I personally would go for an SL600, STOCK those have gone from 0-60 in under 4 seconds and there engines with standard mods like ECU etc can get you close to 650HP. If I didn't have kids id be in the market for one.
Just my 2 cents

The large cl63 and cl600 or even biturbo cl550 seem like awesome cars too.
I'm curious how much comfort for road trips the sl600 would have?

I had the pleasure of owning a SL55 and a SL500 and in all honesty they are sporty but not uncomfortable they are just fantastic GT cars with a lot of power, and depending on where you live it is always nice to have a hard top convertible
