2011 C250 huge fuel consumption
Hi guys,
This is my first post , with my first problem :
Car: 2011 Mercedes C250 4Matic (V6) , 80,000 km
Problem : Huge fuel consumption (17-19 L/100km ;13.8-12.4 mpg) city driving , outside temp. -10*C (14*F )
Jobs done : coolant temp sensor replaced (code P0128) ,air filters replaced , spark plugs replaced , flushed injectors , checked tire pressure ....All done by MB dealer with MB original parts (MB mechanic told me without error codes he can do nothing...)
Noticed : my OBD reader show all live parameters OK (within limits) , but coolant temp. at dash gauge shows 90* C and at OBD 77*C ;no engine light , no error codes
The deal : Lamborghini consumption with Corola output
The comparison : my '99 E320 RWD in similar condition takes max. 14.2 l/100km (16.6 mpg )
Any suggestion ?
Thank you !

P0128 is the fault code for a low coolant temp not a faulty temp sensor.
Combined with the high fuel consumption in low ambient temps I'd suggest replacing your thermostat and recheck the fuel consumption.
The engine should have an operating temp of 90-100C in such low ambient temps (it's a electronically controlled thermostat, it runs hotter when ambient is colder)
