2008 Cl63 comand system operating delays
So almost every time I jump into my car and start it, the radio /mp3/cd, takes its sweet time to turn on and operate. Some times it takes 10 Min's and sometimes it takes up to 30-40 min! Occasionally I'll get luck and it works right away. When it starts working, the screen shows "telephone activating" or something like that.... What is wrong and how can I fix it?? Please help. Can the command system firmware be updated?

I walked into the dealer today and the guy said he couldn't even tell me if there was an update possible or available, I have to hook it up to a computer at a cost of $220...then he can tell me anything I need to know...dont even know what it would cost to update after the $220 fee

mine was being diagnosed for other problems as well, so i guess they didn't charge me the diagnosis fee. ask them if they'll waive the diagnosis fee if you do the work if it's needed. also check an independent shop that has the star system and see if the can do updates. good luck!
