FSS reset and Odometer totally hosed up!

I had my oil changed yesterday in my '99 C280 and I went to reset my FSS indicator earlier today. I followed the instructions in the manual to the letter, but the reset didn't work.

As I was holding the "0" on for the last time waiting for the beep to indicate that it was changed. I never saw the 10,000 show up in the display.

Now, my trip odometer is totally dark, and the FSS indicator with the wrench icon and "400" mileage readout is still illuminated in the other window. I drove like this for 45 minutes earlier today. I went inside and came out 30 minutes later and started the car to the same display.

Can anyone help me on this one?

Did you try reseting the cluster by pulling out all the fuses for it?

Good Idea. I was considering disconnecting the battery, but the fuses are a better option to try first. I'll let you know what happens.
