Help. Airmatic problem: Does not go down after raising the car

Hi all,

I have a problem with the airmatic. The point is that after raising the car pressing the Airmatic button, the message "car raising" is shown in the dashboard until it gets the upper position so raising function works ok.

But when pressing again the airmatic button, the display shows the lowering message, but the car doesn't goes down. It remains high and the message remains until the car is turned off.

Only when turning the car off and closing it, after some seconds the car goes down while decompression is being listened at the compressor unit.

What can be going on ? All the threads I read are related problems with the raising process but didn't find anything in the oposite side.

The car is an ML280 CDI / year 2006 (W164)

Thanks,
Antonio
