OBD II Protocol?
Had bought a spiffy OBD II tool (AutoEnginuity ) but it won't connect up with my 2002 Sport Coupe.
AutoEnginuity can't figure out what the problem is . . . It looks like the software is trying to connect using an OBD II protocol named KWP2000 . . . .
But there is another protocol called KWP2000 CAN . . . Could this be the same CAN that MB calls the Controller Area Network? AutoEnginuity says that MB didn't implement KWP2000 CAN until 2004 . . . and that the current AutoEnginuity doesn't support KWP2000 CAN.
Is there a way to find out what exact OBD II protocol that's used by a 2002 C230 with an MB111 engine?

Sorry, I don't have the answer. But more questions. Shouldn't ANY OBDII compliant tester work? Isn't that the purpose of standardizing? If I understand your type correctly it works through a computer/laptop. I believe your interface problem is with AutoIngenuity and not OBDII. You can buy an OBDII tester for $40 that reads the codes on any car (but it sure wouldn't have all the features of yours!).
