Caution about lug bolts

If your Mercedes has the little pouch with 5 extra lug bolts in your trunk, make SURE you use those with the spare and NOT the ones that are currently on your flat tire. The ones in the pouch are shorter and they are to be used with the spare. I've seen 3 people so far, all with 203 C-classes oddly enough, who have completely wiped out the hub and bearing assembly, and the parking brake assembly, on the rear wheels by using the long lug bolts with the spare tire. They protrude too far into the hub, due to the narrower thickness of the spare wheel. Damages from this are not covered under warranty!!

Great Tip ! You would think that Mercedes would put these lug nuts in a bag that said For Use With Spare Wheel Only , or stamped each to denote such.... But, then again, no one reads anyhow....
