Heater temperature dial setting and relation to control valve
Hi. Does anyone know: Does the heater hose control valve stay open when the car is turned off if I leave the temperature dial set to the hottest position? Or does it automatically close and then re-open when the car gets turned back on? It's a 2006 B200T and I'm guessing the latter is true but I'd like confirmation from those who know. Thanks.

Regardless of the heater control position the heater valve is fully open with the engine off. The heater valve requires voltage to be applied to close it.

Thanks very much. That's even better than I had hoped for.
BTW, I'd be very interested in knowing if there are technical manuals available for the B200T. I've searched but haven't found anything, yet. I'm just coming from Volkswagen and the Bentley manual I had for that car was absolutely great. Is there such a thing for my Mercedes?

MB don't do workshop manuals for individual cars, all info is in a single program called WIS. Search for it and you'll find what you're looking for.
