1980 W123, 280 CE. A/C intermittent problem
Hi,
I have an intermittent problem with my A/C on my old 280 Coupe.
Sometimes the A/C works fine...compressor clutch engages, cool air blowing fine through the cabin vents.....all perfect......
BUT after a while with the A/C on, the complete system just suddenly shuts off. The A/C compressor does not engage and the cabin fan does
not work at all (none of the 3 positions of the fan speed works).
Then when I start the car the next day, the A/C works fine , untill the system suddenly drops dead again.
The fan never fails if the A/C is in off position.
I just installed a new drier and pressure valve, new o-ring seals, and charged with fresh R134 gas to 0.9 kg. Before it was with R12 gas.
What could be the fault??
Thanks for your cooperation!!
