Ml270 cuts out at 2500
I have had problems with my 2003 ml 270
You get to 2500 rpm and engine dies
It restarts straight away.
I have replaced the
glow plugs , maf , crack shaft sensor and still no joy.
Can anyone please help.

Every one of the parts that you changed typically does not contribute to a diesel turning off.
You stop a diesel either by cutting off the air or fuel---never mind the air I would concentrate on the fuel pressure and the rail pressure at or near the RPM's you described-----how do I do that---well if you don't have the tools find someone with the proper tools---go to a diesel truck stop!!

But I clipped it back in and read that it
will self bleed.
Do you think that could have been it.

Read up on glow plugs---they don't function at that rpm--they effect starting thru warm up---then they are off until the next starting cycle!!

The most likely cause is an injector with a high internal leakage at high pressures. This shows up when doing an injector leak test at higher rail pressures (not idle). The engine shuts down because it thinks it has a fuel leak and shuts the engine down for safety reasons (doesn't know the difference between internal and external leaks)
The best way to do a test with no tools is to put the vehicle in gear with foot very hard on the brake and give it full throttle at the same time. If the engine shut off just after the engine comes onto full power then you nee to work out which injector is the cause (you need the tools).
