SL500 dies after about 5 miles any ideas?
Hi All,
My 95 SL500 (R129) has just started to cut out after about five miles - it starts to missfire then dies and will not restart. Leave it an hour or so and it fires fine and runs fine for about another five miles.
Battery is flat and I have had to jump start it.
I am guessing it must be fuel related - fuel pump? Goes until it runs out - then restarts after an hour when fuel has run through the system. Any one else had this - is it a commn thing? How much will it cost to get right!
Any help or advice greatly appreciated?

No - The battery being dead is down to my being out of the country for a few weeks, and as such the car has not been used so have to jump it to get it started.
Then as it will only run for six miles before cutting out it is not charging enough to restart.
