Clic-R Pliers
Anyone know a Canadian retailer where I can get a pair of CLIC-R pliers - ideally in or around Ottawa? I found a pair on Amazon.ca but it would take weeks to ship.
These pliers are used on the ring clamps for hoses like the engine air intake hose linking the filter housing to the engine block (2013 w204 v6).
(Someone....[me] decided to jump right in and replace the engine air filter before ensuring they had a tool to close those ring clamps... and needle-nose pliers didn't work so well... just ask my sliced-up thumb)

Channel lock pliers work good also. The key is to slide it down just enough to get the hose off. If you take it off and it snaps closed, it's hard to get open again.

@GlennS —*Thanks I'll try a channel lock! For removal I did just as you reco'ed, loosened it enough to remove the hose but left the ring clamp on.
