new to the forums, i apologize if there is already a thread on this matter but seems i cannot find one in regards to my particular situation. i recently performed a flap runner lever repair on my 08 c300 where the plastic lever for the vacuum solenoid has broken on the intake manifold. i removed the manifold and all associated wires and performed my repair. it went quite smoothly. after the vehicle was all put back together i went to start it and as the key went to ignition, nothing happened. i noticed something odd. the high beam light was on even though the high beams were off. also i couldnt shift into nuetral. i thought it was a battery low voltage issue and tested the battery to 12.35 v. its a tad low so i put it on a jumper/tender to crank but no luck starting. i kept hearing a strange intermittent click near the battery in the black box. i suppose its a relay. happens every 15 seconds or so. i also tried to plug in a obd2 code reader and it seems to fail to read for some odd reason. i would also like to mention that when the vehicle was parked with the intake manifold removed i needed to have the car pushed forward due to some home repairs being made. i accidentally hit the ignition while turning the key to attempt to put the car into nuetral. the engine turned over a couple time. im not sure if that has anything to do with the no start issue. any help or any information leading to this repair would be very much appreciated.

after extensive online searches I’ve come across your post, I’m also suffering a no start 2012 SLK200

key similarity is the high beam indicator is on even though the high beams are off. It’s with an Indy specialist at the moment, just wondering if you ever got to the bottom of the issue?
