Transmission Heat Related Problems, Won't Shift until 2100 RPM, CLS550 4Matic 20136
Since the weather has started to warm up to the 90's and above my car has been running abnormally from start.
Whenever I start the car wait for the rpm to drop to 1k and then pull off. My transmission/engine/computer begins to hold the RPM's at or below 2100 RPM before shifting. Usually in "E" mode, not sport, the car hunts for the highest gear to save gas mileage which is not the case. Meaning it stays at around 1000 rpm between the first and 5th gear.
It will continue to shift only above 2100 RPM all the way up to 5th gear. Eventually though, about 5 minutes passes and the RPM's and shifting go back to normal. Meaning the car is seeking the highest gear to keep the RPM around 1000 RPM to save gas mileage. Mind you this is occurring with weather around 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
When the weather cooled back down to the 70's the car started driving normal again.
Have any of you experienced this? The dealership said the car is "learning" from my driving, but I don't drive difference in weather with a 20 degree difference. I feel like something in the engine bay is overheating, like the computer.
Any thoughts would be nice.
Thanks

Thanks for the response. Is there a sensor in relation to the transmission that could be causing it? Could you explain how the engine coolant could cause it to malfunction?
Is there another computer component that could be over heating to cause it?
Thank you
