How long do mercedes brakes last?
I just recently over the course of 8 months replaced all the pads and rotors on my car... I replaced the front rotors about 8 months ago along with all four pads. About a week ago it starting making that loud squealing brake noise again so I took it in and got the last piece replaced which was the rear rotors. The car is squealing loud as ever now, possibly worse then before I took it to this mechanic to get the rear rotors changed and now i'm being told front rotors need to be changed... I've driven about 9k miles in this time and the pads in the rear are at about 50%. I assume the front are low as well. This guy claims to put only mercedes parts in this (he always shows that mercedes box) but 8 month shelf life on brake components does not seem right. There is no lip on the front rotor but there is marks on the surface. The main mechanic is out till wednesday so theres not really much I can do but drive around with this squeal noise, but it would seem as if they changed my rear rotors to get paid as that really did not resolve anything and why they wouldn't inform me of the issue in the front is beyond me especially when I asked him how are the front rotors doing and he said fine. I do live on a hill and understand that puts more stress on a car but I don't think i've ever ran into this many brake issues even on my old e320.
