Again my ignorance.
VIN: WDB2110612A331015
I've removed the rear seats and interior lining panels and it appears the retractor unit is fitted during production and impossible to remove. So ther belt has to be removed in situ, taking care that the retractor doesnt spin loose.
I have spoken to a seat belt supplier he said its $150 for replacement belt.
BUT the only person I can find to do the job want $1100 to do it. He said if I dont like the price try Mercedes.
I'm all for people earning $$ for a job. But Ive researched this and its a 4 hour job for someone who knows what hes doing (dismantling the belt from the retractor and installing a new belt.) So $1100 sounds a bit like hes taking the **** out on Mercedes owners.
I'm a pensioner and an ex tradesman, dont like being screwed.
