how do i read mercedes service buletins and service manuals?

its pretty confusing to me
can anyone give me a quick walkthrough how to use them


for example this one

Start at the top, number one, and work your way down. First column is the number, second column is what to do, third column is note, fourth is link to specific procedure. The links will not work on the PDF but on WIS they work.

For example, step 2. Unscrew torque converter from driver, If you don't know how to do this then look to next column, for vehicle with 722.9 transmission, next column AR27.20-P-0100-01A is the document that will break down how to do this. The BA links will take you to torque specifications related to this step, hence the "Nm" box in third column. These will be found down bellow repair procedure as well if you scroll down. Below the "Nm" box is a box with S and a wrench, that is for Special Tool, fourth column shows part number of the special tool which is also pictured at bottom of the page.

Hope that makes sense
