What does the "5" mean in a B5 service?
late 2013 GLK350 4x4. Same engine and transmission as 2014 models. 35kMiles.
All services and "Bulletins" performed to date. Engine air filter already changed by me in the spring. Shell 93 adding Techron once a month. Brake fluid changed yearly.
I know what an A and a B service entails. But...
Message comes up on dash "B5 service required in 30 days." I called a number of dealers as well as looking at MB ASSYt and they say "the 5 is a code for the technician." This is a non-answer.
Does anyone technical out there know what the 5 means? Please. I want to know what we are getting into before I deliver the car for the maintenance. (Prices for the service are all over the map.)
