tire or something else?

are my tires ruined? the ride is bumpy and i'm trying to figure out why.

link:http://www.imagestation.com/mypictur...1&from_album=1

can a little tear like that cause my ride to be so bumpy?

this week, two things occurred:
1. almost hit a dear, but luckily i slammed the brakes hard and stopped. tire smoke everywhere. i do not know if i hit something on the ground in the process damaging the tire. i didn't ride the car home fast so i do not know if this incident caused the damage.

2. having fun over the weekend, i decided to try to do a burnout. i press the brake lightly and the gas. nothing really happened. transmission is fine. is it possible the i ruined the rotors or brakes though? again, i didn't drive the car past 35 to notice the bumpyness, until today when i took the highway to class.

opinions? is there some temp solution to this? like a tire filler or something like glue?

Pookie;

I would zero in on the tires for sure..........you created a flat spot on 2 or more tires on the deer stop in all probability depending on how strong a stop it was.

thank you. i hope this is the cause. it seems only to be coming from one tire though. i asked a friend today and he said that if i put the front tire that is ruined in anyway in the rear, the bumpyness would go away. i do not know if that is true.

i also have my eye on these tires if i really do need to change them: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

You can replace one tire. But check the other ones too. If they are wearing down, you might as well replace all four and start with a fresh set.

thank you. i'll either jack the car up this weekend or take the car in to the dealer to put up on their lift to check all the tires out. hopefully i can resolve this by next week! i got lots of driving to do.
