Hi all,
I have ordered a brand new genuine original electronic steering lock for my 1999 Australian delivery C43 AMG.
The keys ( all 3 ) work perfectly fine.
The electronic steering lock is a bit noisey and sounds different to my 1999 E55, and does sound different to when i first bought the car.
My question is can i just remove the original steering lock assembly and replace it with the new one or is there more work required to make it work the way it should?
I have removed the part before, so that is no trouble, its the electronics side that i cant find info on.
I saw somewhere something about it only working for the first 40 starts after replacement, and another person said after 40 starts it still works fine.
I kinda need to know for sure!
Thanks all

Well i have the new ESL in the car, but have not fitted the bolt yet just incase.
Worked perfectly straight away, but im heading into the dealer tomorrow and theyre going to check it for me, no charge if nothing needs doing.
