Quick tech question
Hey y'all. I'm a noob to the forum, and to MB ownership.
I live in a small town about an hour south of Savannah, Georgia and I would like to find a good tech here. I either have to drive to Savannah, or Jacksonville, Florida. Now normally, for major issues, I have no issues driving my car there.
However - having never owned a Benz before, I would like to find out from other Benz owners and techs - can I take him to a local repair shop for basic repairs? Oil changes, AC issues (my AC sounds like a jet engine trying to take off), etc. Or should I stick with a certified MB tech for just about everything?
I absolutely love this car. I wouldn't normally buy a car this much older, but it only had 57k miles on it.
Thanks in advance!

Did I commit a faux pas?
Just wanted to know if regular mechanics can do basic jobs on my car, or if I have to drive an hour for everything that needs to be done to it.

You wont need to use a dealer but I would suggest you use a tech that specialises in MB or German cars in general as it will cost you less in the long run.
