Unhappy Motor MountBroken

Well, problems with my car have alrady started. Friday morning driving around town and traffic (the "little" we have in Houston) I managed to break driver side motor mount on my E55, all I did was to floor it while changing lanes at around 15 mph.

Shop foreman explained to me that motor mounts on these cars are soft so if you ever get into a collision the engine falls down and doesn't hurt you, therefore this makes them vulnerable to break acording to your driving habits (does that mean I floor it too much???)

It is in the shop now I hope I'll get it back by tuesday.

Flooring the throttle should not break the motor mounts, even if they do sacrifice themselves in a severe collision. You just had a defective mount.
