260 E Hot air blows NO A/C
Hallo, i have a 1988 mercedes 260E and my problem is that from time to time my a/c shuts off and very hot air starts comming out of vents below windshield and on the side. After clicking on climate control a couple of times a/c comes back on. What is the problem?

In a W123...
This could be caused by a bad mono-valve if you had a W123.
I am not familiar with your W124 to know if this could be your problem. If you have a mono-valve like the W123 it is a silicone diaphram moved by an electo-magnet to open or shut off the hot water from going to the heater core. A small tear in the diaphram can cause the diaphram to stick open or closed when water gets behind the diaphram. In the W123 the diaphram mounted onto the magfnet costs about $40 or so.
