Clicking relays no start 2000 ML320
Tried to start it this morning. While I was turning the key I also was adjusting the driver's seat switch. It got about a quarter crank before I hit the seat switch and then everything went dead and it wouldn't start. No crank no click. Tried jumping and I accidentally crossed my cables (stupid yellow jumper cable for a power lead, wtf is that about? Anyway, my fault for not double-checking.) Fixed that, still wouldn't jump but the dash lights were brighter when it was being jumped. Took the battery in, it was at 12.20V so they charged and load tested it, claimed it's good. Still won't start. When I leave the key in the "on" position I hear two relays clicking; under the hood, k14 (convenience relay/windows etc,) and passenger side k1 (seat comfort relay.) The dash lights and dome lights flicker with the relays like a battery drain. I tried disconnecting the ground on the seat switch, no change. Cleaned and retightened battery cables. The dome light has had intermittent problems the last month or so; passenger side has been off a couple months, then the driver's side went out for maybe a week and came back on. I also spilled a small amount of liquid on the shift console a few days ago. I'm past my skill level now, can someone walk me through what I should test next? I have a multimeter and can go get a test light if needed.
