Carsoft diagnostic system is it worth it?

I see there are not many posts in this Mercedes Tech Talk forum regarding Carsoft. Most of them are old and have 0 answers. That's why I decided to create my own thread and be more specific.

So I recently found this Carsoft diagnostic system which is called CARSOFT Mercedes V12 S:

http://www.carsoft.com/single-brand/...12-system.html

I emailed Carsoft a few questions few days ago, but they haven't replied yet.

I guess this system is some sort of update of 7.4 and they (Carsoft) compare 7.4 with this v 12 here:

http://www.carsoft.com/skin/frontend...comparison.pdf

I see it's capable with working on various electronic systems like SRS, ABS etc at least on paper:

http://www.carsoft.com/skin/frontend...s/coverage.pdf

Though I don't see it supports ESP, but only ABS for my W140.

Also there is Carsoft "PRO" series which can be found here:

http://www.carsoftsales.com/carsoft_ultimate_pro.htm

And pro costs 3 time more than V 12 S.

My question is simple? Did anyone use this particular CARSOFT Mercedes V12 S system or PRO system and if yes how good is it? Currently I have only regular OBD2 CEL scanners which are pretty much garbage, because these cheap scanners can't access anything besides ECU. Thus I'm looking for some very good diagnostic system under $500-600. For personal use when working on my W140.

Thanks in advance.

I just got a quick call from Carsoft about an hour ago.

They told me this info about this Mercedes V 12 S diagnostic system:

1) It requires serial port and they don't recommend to use USB-RS232 adapter because signal may be lost. I don't have any old laptop around me here with serial port. If I get It I'll try to use adapter first.

2) There is no subscription. Just one time payment.

3) So called PRO system is a old system which is no longer made. So we should disregard it.

4) 7.4 is a pirated version. Maybe it's an old version too. I mentioned 7.4 during the phone call because I was able only to find some threads about 7.4.

5) Win 7 64-bit is supported.

They promised to call me back tomorrow regarding which systems I can access on my W140 using this diagnostic system.

I hope they'll call me tomorrow and I'll keep you updated.
