My passenger seat recently stopped moving forward and backward. All other seat movement functionality works fine. You can hear the motor running freely, but the seat does not move. I tried adjusting the up and down movement, and the forward motion suddenly started working again...then stopped working again. This problem all came about when a very tall friend of mine was a passenger and moved the seat all the way back and all the way down. After that, I started having this issue.

I'm not familiar with the inner working of the power seats, but am guessing that a gear or sliding mechanism of some sort is stripped. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try the simple stuff first. Disconnect the battery, wait five minutes connect-----does the seat move fore and aft.-----if not, I would get it diagnosed, is it the motor, is it the control module bla bla
