Ignition Control Module HELP!!

I was told today by the local benz garage that my 95 w140c needs a new ignition contol module because the driver side coil isn't receiving a "pulse" to ignite the cylinders on the driver side. Do you know of any other problem that could cause this. I hope so because this part costs $2000.00. If this is the only cure, does anyone make an aftermarket or high performance ICM????

By local Benz garage do you mean the dealer or an independant?? If it is an independant I would go to an authorized dealer for a second opinion.

The garage I mentioned is an independent but, they are known as being the best for benzes. The nearest dealer is about 20 miles away, but me being a black person they really would rather not provide me with any services. They really try to let me know that they dont think I belong in there. YES IN 2002!!!!

I would get a second opinion from a dealer. If what you say about the dealer nearest you is true and it could be I would make an effort to find another even if you have to drive a bit further. I have found that with electronics the dealer network is the best place to go as they have the proper diagnostic equipment.

Try www.clairparts.com.....they only care about the color of your money and the parts are the same (often in MB wrappings) and MUCH cheaper. BTW, I doubt that dealer cares about your color either. MOST MB dealers are aloof and arrogant to everyone, including their mothers! By exacting a bit of humility on everyone they come in contact with it raises their stature in their own minds. But I don't need to explain that to you.
