What type of plastic is the sending unit made of?

Hi all. I'm still new to this whole "forum" thing, so please excuse me if I'm posting this question in the wrong place.
I have a 2004 C32 AMG. The plastic inlet on the sending unit for the fuel pump snapped off (long story). I need to plastic weld it back on, since every other type of mend hasn't held up. The only question i have, though, is what type of plastic is it made of, so i know what type of plastic welding rod to use? I've read online that plastic gas tanks are made of HDPE plastic, but that doesn't tell me for certain what the sending unit is made of.
If anyone has the answer to this, I'd be extremely grateful.
