W208 dash question
Dave:
I have an intermittent, hard to locate, creaking sound in my 01 W208 CLK which may, or may not, be the result of a recent windshield replacement. My dealer has done everything except pulling back the dash and lining the area between the windshield and dash with felt. My tech is very good, but hesitates to do this because it is a lengthy, difficult procedure on the W208 (requiring removal of the center console) which may create more rattles than it eliminates. It also may be difficult to get all of the components to line up right during reassembly. They will do it if I ask, but I would appreciate your opinion based on your experience. Thanks.

I had a creaking from the dash as well..
the dealer replaced the entire dash. Fixed the problem for me..they had to keep the car a couple of days though.
