2005 ml500 replaced ignition lock drum and now no start. I did try to start it with a screwdriver and it started twice but would not continue to run, now nothing but dash lights and not turning over even with the lock drum replaced. HHelp

If you are saying you replaced the electronic ignition switch (EIS), that must be and can only be programmed by the dealer using the workshop key. The EIS is a theft-relevant device that must be coded to the individual car.

Do some research on Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) and Drive Authorization System (DAS).

No the 2005 early has a key and drum/tumbler lock When I removed the drum I also removed a outer ring that looked like a light for the switch. When I reassembled it I did bit think anything of the ring and did not put it back on. The car would not start. When the ring was replaced everything worked as it should so My Bad for trying it without completing the installation.
