I own a 2001 sl500 and after doing some work on the top, the switch now blinks and beeps constantly. The beep will stop after about two blocks of travel but the blinking never stops. I think it is an electrical problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

There are complicated and if you don't want to grow old searching for a solution------find someone with DAS(or equal) and he\she or it will have the solution in twenty minutes after hookup.
