Help deciphering 6-speed manual designations

Long story short, thinking about doing an OM606 swap in a 94 Mazda B4000. It is currently a 5 speed/4x4 and it needs to stay that way. The "easy" button would be to adapt the OM606 to the existing M5OD. That keeps transfer case/driveline completion a no-brainer, but initial measurements tell me that replacing the V6 with an I6 in its original location is a non-fit situation. If I'm moving things back (and therefore changing driveline items anyway) it makes sense to explore other transmissions that might avoid the adapting engine/trans, so I'm looking toward the Mercedes manuals.

Can someone break down the 5- and 6-speeds for me? I have spent the last two days on google, but I'm not finding much at all... at least nothing that gives definitive links to the 716/711 numbers to which SG-S boxes and their applications/torque capacities.

My needle in the haystack hope is that I can find a 5 or 6 speed manual from the Daimler parts bin that will bolt up to a modded OM606 (250-300 hp and unknown tq… still researching mods) and use other parts-bin things (for example a 4x4 sprinter or AWD car) to get a transfer case... or a way to adapt my current BW case. I came here searching for Daimler manual transmission clarity, but if you have another suggestion of gear boxes I'm open to hear it.

So, help me find some needles in the haystack.

Well, in my tenure I have put a Nailhead in a Model A, a 5.0 Windsor in an 87 Cutlass, built a 502 for a 70 El Camino, did an LS swap in a 57 Belvedere and kept the pushbutton transmission, a Caddy 500 in a 66 Bonneville, and I'm currently putting a heavily modded LQ9/LS6 and T56 in a 67 LeMans. Its what I do.
