Range reading after fill up

Range reading after fill up
Hope someone can help with a bizarre issue.
Past 5 years a fill up always "resets" the RANGE data to some fixed number (e.g. 311 miles)
Then of course as the car is driven that range number will adjust up and down depending on actual gas consumption
However the most recent two fill ups gave Range = 0 ?? Then it slowly goes up to some number.
Anyone have any ideas what's going on?
Wonder if there's a way to reset it back ...
