Hi,
I got this "BRAKE - VISIT WORK SHOP" message on the dash display, what does this mean? I have only 7000 miles on the car, I would really surprise if I need new pads this soon. I am mechanically skilled and I have changed my owe pads for years on all my other cars, but of course not SBC equiped. Is the E500's brake a DIY job, or does it need special equipment to reset the computer? Thanks !!

You may want to take a look at this before attempting any work on your brake system.Originally Posted by Dlau

If your pads are worn you will get a message that says, brake lining wear-visit workshop. sounds like you have some other problem. The pads on the front of an SBC car should at least last you 15-17k miles or up to 27k depending on how you drive
